City traffic lights out of action as power outage not to be restored until 5PM

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway motorists are being urged to take care this morning, as several sets of city traffic lights are out of action.

It's due to a widespread power outage, which is still affecting almost 8,000 customers in Ballybane, Ballybrit and surrounding areas.

ESB crews are working to repair the fault, and it says power will now not be restored until 5PM.

The outage is affecting traffic lights at Ballybane, Tuam road N6, Riverside and Liosbaun, and road operations crews have been sent out.

The city council have confirmed the lights at the Quincentennial Bridge are now restored.
