Galway Bay fm newsroom - A major search and rescue operation at Galway docks has been called off after a missing man was found safe and well.
The coastguard helicopter from Shannon and the Galway RNLI lifeboat were called to the Galway docks area around 7.30am following reports that a young man had entered the water.
Two units of the city fire service and the ambulance service also attended the scene.
Gardaí have now confirmed that a young man who was missing has been found safe and well, and the search has been called off.
