City rents rise by 9 percent

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Rents in Galway city have risen by 9 per cent in the last year.

The latest report published by property website Daft shows the average rent in the city is now one thousand 297 euro.

In the county, rents rose by 15 per cent in the same period, with the average rent at €932.

In Connacht, rents rose by an average of 13 per cent in the year to June 2019 and are now almost a quarter above their previous high in early 2008.

Nationally, rents rose by an average of 6.7 per cent, in the year to June 2019.

This marks the lowest rate of rental inflation across the country since the final quarter.
