City public meeting to discuss light rail system for Galway

How the GLUAS would look travelling through Eyre Square.

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A public meeting will take place in the city this evening to discuss a light rail system for Galway.

Campaigners have long argued that GLUAS is an ideal solution to the continually worsening traffic congestion.

They point to towns and cities across Europe with similar, or smaller, populations to Galway that have successful light rail systems.

They’re looking for Government to commit to a feasability study – something Minister Eamon Ryan has previously voiced support for.

The public meeting takes place in the Hardiman Hotel this evening at 7.30.

Speaking to Galway Talks, campaigner Murt Coleman says light rail is badly needed.
