City public meeting to discuss children and internet safety

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A public meeting will take place in the city this evening to discuss the safe use of the internet for children and teenagers.

The event is organised by Fianna Fail Councillor Ollie Crowe and will feature a number of experts with experience in the field.

Guest speakers include Dr. Elaine Byrne of the School of Psychology at NUIG, Timmy Hammersley of SpunOut.ie and Kildare-North TD James Lawless.

The free public meeting will take place at the Clayton Hotel this evening at 8.

Councillor Crowe says the issue is of huge concern to many parents.
