Galway Bay fm newsroom - A driver has been caught driving at 117 kilometres per hour in a 50 zone on the N6 at Ballinfoile on National Slow Down Day.
69 drivers have been caught speeding so far this morning, as extra Gardaí are out monitoring speed over the next 24 hours.
While another driver was doing 122 kilometres an hour in an 80 zone in Lucan, Dublin.
Gardai say a third of crashes are caused by speeding.
