Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are calls for Galway City Council to clarify the extent to which the Covid-19 crisis has impacted on the local authority's financial health.
It comes as income gathered by the council at this point in 2020 will have fallen well below projected levels due to the coronavirus emergency.
Fianna Fail city councillor John Connolly is calling on the city council to reveal how it plans to address the financial losses incurred.
Councillor Connolly has voiced concerns that the loss of key revenue streams, such as the collection of rates, could lead to reduced services and impede the progression of some capital projects.
