City west councillor Pauline O'Reilly has been nominated to run for Cathaoirleach of the Green Party.
The support of at least 30 party members is required to secure a nomination.
Councillor O'Reilly will be running against Councillor Hazel Chu of the Dublin Bay South constituency.
Anyone who is a member of the green party for more than six months can vote by postal vote.
