Galway Bay fm newsroom:
Galway City Council is being urged to implement more infrastructure to help increase the number of children cycling to school.
Nine new bicycle racks have been installed recently around the city with another ten expected to be ready for installation in the coming days.
The city council is now being urged to prioritise off road cycle lane development, near schools in particular.
Green Party City Councillor Martina O' Connor says the additional bicycle racks are to be welcomed, but more needs to be done to encourage the city's younger cyclists.
