Galway City Council will collect hundreds of bags of grass cuttings from estates across the city this week.
City residents are being advised to use their brown bins to dispose of grass cuttings going forward as the council collection will be a once off event.
City Councillor Terry O’Flaherty has confirmed that the Local Authority will, this week, collect hundreds of bags of green cuttings which have been left out at numerous city estates.
Councillor O’Flaherty was given the commitment for the one-off collection by the City Manager at this week’s council meeting.
It comes as earlier this year the Local Authority announced that it would be winding down its grass cuttings collection service.
