Galway Bay fm newsroom - The City Council is being slammed for being caught 'off-guard' by the devastating flooding experienced in the city last night.
It's as City Chief Brendan McGrath says nothing could have predicted the level of surge experienced in the wake of Storm Eleanor.
Councillor Padraig Conneely disputes the claim - he believes the warning signs were there and the city should have been on high alert as a precaution.
Councillor Conneely says there's no excuse for how ill-prepared Galway was for the approaching storm.
