Mr. Mahon also confirmed that a Section 11 derelict site notice has been issued and the 2019 figure of €112,500 is based on a levy of 3%.

This levy has increased to 7% for 2020 and the Housing Director said a notice for last year’s levy would be issued shortly.

Finally Mr. Mahon confirmed progress on demolishing the former hotel had been stalled due to level five public health restrictions, however, he said conversations are continuing with its owners to secure a date for the demolition work to begin.
