Galway Bay fm newsroom - The City Council has issued a warning to the developer of a hotel at Bohermore over unauthorised works being carried out at the site.
It's after an inspection at the site of the former Shannon Dry Cleaners revealed parts of a protectured structure are being removed.
When completed sometime next year, the proposed Dean Hotel at Bohermore will offer over 100 bedrooms at the site of the former Shannon Dry Cleaners.
It'll be spread across a number of addresses between 80 and 86 Bohermore, which are being demolished to make space for the development.
However, Galway City Council has confirmed that following a recent inspection at the site - a warning has now been issued to the developer.
It relates to a protected structure with an address at 86 Bohermore.
Planning Enforcement Officers discovered that unauthorised works had been carried out and portions of the building had been removed.
A letter has now been issued under the Planning and Development Act, warning the developer to immediately cease these unauthorised works.
