Galway City Council is one of the best local authorities in the country for uptake of electric vehicles.
But Galway County Council is the polar opposite, according to stats from transport tech firm Geotab.
The fact Galway City Council has electrified 24 per cent of its fleet might not seem all that impressive at first glance.
But the vast majority of local authorities nationwide can only boast a figure of less than 8 per cent.
Cork City Council leads the way at 28 per cent, with Galway City Council and Fingal County Council following in joint second.
Meanwhile, on the flip side of the coin, Galway County Council sits around the bottom of the tables
Just 1 per cent of its fleet of almost 170 vehicles is electric.
But it's still not the worst figure nationwide, with a handful of local authorities scoring a perfect zero - lacking any electric vehicles at all.
