Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway City Council made over two and a half million euro from car-parking charges last year.
Figures show it's one of the highest figures at any local authority nationwide outside of Dublin.
According to the Sunday Independent, Galway City Council took in €2.7m in car parking charges last year.
That's the second highest figure nationwide outside Dublin - slightly behind Cork City at €2.9m.
Meanwhile, Galway County Council took in €722 thousand from motorists during 2018.
The largest figure was, unsurprisingly, collected by Dublin City council, which took in almost €30m in parking fees last year.
