Galway Bay fm newsroom - The city's new arthouse cinema could be open by the end of the summer.
That's according to long-time critic of the project, Councillor Padraig Conneely.
He says that Element Pictures, which will manage the Picture Palace at Spanish Parade, will brief city councillors on the project at a meeting tomorrow.
The arthouse cinema has been embroiled in controversy since it was mooted 8 years ago and work had been stalled several times.
Rhatigans were appointed after the original contractors went into liquidation and are currently completing the development.
Speaking to Keith Finnegan, Councillor Conneely says the Solas Picture Palace now looks set to open in the coming months.
