Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway City and County Council will next week host discounted bulky goods recycling events at sites across the county.
The service will be available at the Ballinasloe, Clifden and Tuam civic amenity sites, as well as Barna Waste recycling facility on the Headford Road on the outskirts of the city.
Under the two week initiative in association with Barna Recycling, the recycling of bulky goods will cost just €5.
Both local authorities have warned that the service is for householders only and commercial operators will be turned away.
Eligible items include sofas, three piece suites, wardrobes, beside lockers, textiles, mattresses, bedframes, and tables and chairs.
Items like waste electrical equipment, construction waste, household waste, ceramics and toys will not be accepted.
Pre-booking is essential to avail of the €5 gate fee and further information can be found on Galway City and Galway County Council's website or social media platforms.
The discounted bulky goods event will run at eligible sites from Monday, July 26th to Friday, August 6th.
