Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway City Alcohol Forum is set to host a webinar tomorrow discussing underage drinking.
The interagency group oversees the implementation of the Galway city strategy to prevent and reduce alcohol related harm.
The one-hour webinar is a support for parents of young people aged from 11 to 17.
It takes place tomorrow Wednesday (May 25th) at 7.30pm, with registration available on Eventbrite.
The event is being held as part of a series of short events called 'Under The Influence', which aims to engage with communities across Galway.
It comes as research, conducted in NUI Galway on behalf of the Health Behaviour in School Aged Children, highlights that nearly 40% of 15 year olds in Ireland are already drinking.
Liam O'Loughlin is Community Liaison Worker with the Western Region Drug & Alcohol Task Force - he says delaying induction into alcohol is key.
