Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Chief Executive of a Silicon Valley-based tech company says it's a natural fit that the company is expanding in Galway because of the close relationships with colleges here.
Xperi Corporation has two subsidiaries in Ireland - Fotonation in Galway and DTS in Limerick.
Minister of State, Seán Kyne, officially opened Fotonation's new office at Block 5 in Parkmore East in the past hour.
Xperi's planning to establish innovation hub at the Galway location and employs 700 people worldwide.
The company is also working to expand its local engineering talent resulting in at least 50 new jobs over the next few years with further roles in Research & Development also expected.
The expansion by Xperi is supported by IDA Ireland.
