Galway Bay fm newsroom - A one day census carried out in recent weeks recorded 82 families in emergency accommodation in the city.
The census was carried out by Cope Galway on Midsummers day.
It recorded 160 households in emergency accommodation comprising 82 families including 221 children, 73 single people and five couples.
