Catherine Connolly slams Taoiseach over “frightening” comments on EU role in Ukraine war

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway West TD Catherine Connolly has hit out at the Taoiseach over his “frightening” comments on Europe’s role in the war in Ukraine.

Speaking during a discussion on the 50th anniversay of Ireland joining the EU, she said the block is increasingly becoming a military-industrial complex.

Deputy Connolly argued as a neutral country, we should be promoting peace and positive change, not setting an “us and them” mentality.

And she took exception to a comment by Leo Varadkar that “Europe is at war”.
