You can now once again pay cash at pay and display machines across the city.
There's been controversy and u-turns in recent weeks over the use of the machines.
The machines were effectively dead - meaning people had to use the Galway City parking app, a payzone outlet, a website, or over the phone.
But now, the ability to use coins has returned - though cards still cannot be tapped.
A grace period on parking fines to allow people to get familiar with newer payment options expired yesterday.
A former operator of the machines has also taken legal action against Galway City Council, with a case currently before the High Court.
