Galway Bay fm newsroom - Cases of Covid-19 in Galway hospitals have continued to drop steadily this week.
According to the latest figures, there are now 32 patients receiving treatment at UHG, while a further 6 are being treated at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
Of those, 5 at UHG are in intensive care, as is a single patient at Portiuncula.
Compared to this day last week, the number of those being treated for Covid-19 at Galway's hospitals is down 25 percent.
Nationally, there are now 959 people with the virus in Irish hospitals today, with 167 in intensive care.
Health officials have estimated that case numbers could fall to between 200 and 400 by the end of the month based on current trends.
