Calls for removal of underwater reeds from Portunmna’s swimming area

Galway Bay FM Newsroom – There have been calls for the immediate removal of underwater reeds from Portumna’s swimming area.

Independent Councillor Declan Kelly has highlighted the issue with Galway County Council following a number of complaints to him from locals.

He says the reeds have grown above the surface of the water and are causing danger to swimmers.

Councillor Kelly says it’s essential that this wonderful amenity is kept safe:
