Galway City Community Network is calling on local general election candidates to support light rail for the city.
Following 20 years of lobbying by local campaign group GLUAS, a feasibility study was carried out recently.
The study showed that light rail is a ‘viable transport option’ for Galway City and could carry up to 13 million passengers a year.
Campaigner and retired Chartered Engineer, Brendan Mulligan says comittment to the scheme could see increased development across the city.
