Calls for city council to do more to tackle illegal dumping

Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are calls for the city council to do more to tackle illegal dumping.

City councillor Eddie Hoare says illegal dumping is taking place on a daily basis at blackspots in the city including the Old Rahoon Road and Letteragh Road.

He says while anti-dumping signs have been erected - they're not effective.

The Fine Gael Councillor is calling on the council to install surveillance equipment at dumping blackspots to deter perpetrators.
