Galway Bay fm newsroom - Efforts are ongoing to locate a firm to carry out an environmental study on a proposed site for Inishbofin health centre.
The study sets out to determine if the site is suitable.
The centre has been raised at Regional Health Forum level where councillor Mary Hoade said the 160 residents deserve a permanent service.
She says the centre is awaited for a number of years now.
