Galway Bay fm newsroom - A City Councillor is calling for a rapid extension of the Hot Meals pilot scheme to all schools across Galway.
The Hot School Meals Pilot Project was first revealed by the Social Protection Minister as part of Budget 2019.
Over the coming weeks, it'll see hot meals provided to children in 36 primary schools nationwide as the new school term gets underway.
Included in the first round of schools are Bushy Park national school in the city, as well as Caltra national school and Gort Na Gaoithe national school in Newbridge.
However, Green Party Councillor Martina O' Connor says the Department of Education must expand the service as quickly as possible.
