A City Councillor says there's a need for a proactive approach to tackle illegal dumping in Ballybane.
It comes as Ballybane Village and Ballybane Industrial Estate were highlighted as litter blackspots in a recent IBAL litter report.
Fianna Fail Councillor Alan Cheevers is suggesting locals should have to show proof of refuse contracts to Galway City Council.
He says it would reduce the need for expensive clean-up operations.
