Call for IDA to establish greenfield industrial site in Tuam

Galway Bay fm newsroom – There’s a call for the IDA to establish a greenfield industrial site in Tuam.

At this week’s meeting of the local district, Councillor Donagh Killilea proposed a motion, supported by Councillor Joe Sheridan, which was passed unanimously.

Tuam councillors welcomed the recent announcement of major industry for Athenry but pointed out that the IDA land bank in Tuam was insufficient, as part of it was being used by Valeo.

The councillors want the IDA to purchase a suitable green field site for Tuam and Councillor Sheridan added that upgrading of electricity supply and waste water management systems are also urgently required if progress is to be achieved.

The councillor’s unanimously passed the motion.
