Galway Bay FM newsroom - There's a call for a full inquiry into the cutting down of up to 200 trees at Merlin Woods.

It's understood the HSE appointed a contractor to fell the mature trees due to health and safety concerns.

But Councillor Alan Cheevers describes it as a "hatchet job" and "environmental sabatoge".

He is demanding a full investigation
