Call for council to allocate tree surgeon to Loughrea

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Loughrea Councillor has called on Galway County Council to dispatch a tree surgeon to the town.

Cllr Michael ‘Moegie’ Maher says trees have fallen in multiple Loughrea housing estates due to over growth.

Cllr Maher is urging the council to allocate funding for the hiring of a tree surgeon, warning that these top heavy trees are posing a danger to both pedestrians and motorists.

He says the overgrowth in the trees is also damaging the towns footpaths.
