Call for city phone boxes to house defibrillators

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Unused phone boxes around the city should be used to house life-saving equipment.

That's according to Labour city councillor Niall McNelis says the units could be used for defibrillators.

He's calling on the city council to progress the idea for unused phone boxes such as the ones in Salthill and at Newcastle Road outside the hospital.

Councillor McNelis says such equipment would then be available 24 hours a day in local communities.
