Buy to rent giant looks to move into Galway housing market

It's reported that Ireland’s biggest private landlord is looking to move into the housing market in Galway city.

Buy to rent giant Ires Reit is currently mainly focused on the private rental market in Dublin, where it owns close to 4,000 units in dozens of blocks.

According to the Irish Independent, the company is planning further expansion into Galway, Limerick and Cork, as investor appetite for apartments continues to grow.

Chief executive Margaret Sweeney says other cities are now coming into focus, especially as more and more people are working remotely.
