Galway Bay fm newsroom - Businesses in the Middle Street and Spanish Arch areas of the city have raised concerns over a water outage which has forced many to close their doors.

A spokesperson for Irish Water says an outage arose yesterday after a private contractor carried out works in the Quay Street area and encountered difficulty with a water hydrant.
Irish Water crews went onsite and completed repairs last evening.
However, the utility adds that a number of new complaints are being investigated this morning.
Businesses with concerns are asked to contact the helpline on 1850 278 278.
