Galway Bay fm newsroom - Bus Eireann has been ordered to pay a Galway bus driver over €10 thousand in compensation following his dismissal.
Dan Fitzpatrick was constructively dismissed by the firm after it brought a charge of gross misconduct over an incident with a passenger in November 2017.
He took a case with the Workplace Relations Commission citing a 'flawed and unfair disciplinary investigation that left him 'deeply traumatised'.
The WRC found that Bus Eireann did not provide him with a fair procedure and left him with no option other than to retire shortly before his 66th birthday.
According to the Irish Times, Mr. Fitzpatrick, who worked in the Galway area for 16 years, will receive €10,200 in compensation.
