Galway Bay fm newsroom - The wastewater treatment plant in Ballygar is set to be upgraded.
The county council has granted planning permission to Irish Water to carry out construction and extension works at the plant.
The upgrade works are subject to 12 planning conditions.
One condition stipulates that all groundworks within the site must be the subject of archaeological monitoring.
