Galway Bay fm newsroom - A major Government initiative to crack down on illegal dumping will be launched in Ballinasloe today by Roscommon Galway Minister Denis Naughten.
The Anti-Dumping Initiative is being developed in conjunction with the Waste Enforcement Regional Lead Authorities.
It aims to provide funding for projects tackling illegal dumping, including the provision of support for monitoring and surveillance of dumping black spots.
Resources will be allocated to projects where community groups and other state agencies are working in partnership to clean-up and prevent illegal dumping.

The initiative will be launched at the Shearwater Hotel in Ballinasloe this afternoon at 1.
