Councillors in the Ballinasloe MD have approved a €10m local area budget for next year.
It's an increase of €300,000 on last years figure.
The budget was passed on a vote of four to two - with Sinn Féin councillor Dermot Connolly and Independent Ireland's Declan Geraghty in opposition.
Some of the concerns raised included lack of funding for footpath, graveyard and road maintenance.
Councillor Dermot Connolly feels the budget doesn't meet the areas needs.
