Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Ballinasloe event to mark the 60 year anniversary of the EU has heard maintaining economic links will be vital for Ireland following Brexit.
The event was addressed by Latvian Ambassador to Ireland Dr. Gints Apals who said Britain's departure from the group will be a challenge for Ireland.
The event is taking place at the Europe Direct Centre at Fairgreen, Ballinasloe today.
Ambassador Apals told our reporter Lyndsay Hughes he's confident a workable solution will be found to ensure the economic links with northern Ireland will not be damaged.
