Ballinasloe Assistant Director of Nursing makes appeal against complacency in spread of COVID 19

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Ballinasloe senior nursing professional has appealed to the public to continue to follow public health advice to surpress the spread of Covid-19 in the county.

Assistant Director of Nursing at Portiuncula Hospital Geraldine Talty has voiced concerns that complacency has set in across society in recent weeks.

She argues that this will lead to an increase in cases of the virus, which she says will put the hospital under severe pressure.

It comes as the number of patients presenting at Portiuncula's Emergency Department has reached pre-Covid levels in recent weeks.
