Galway Bay fm newsroom - 100 households in the Athenry area are taking part in a water conservation study.
The six-month research project is being led by Trinity College in Dublin.
Households are receiving a free home water audit, and will also benefit from the installation of water saving deviced including shower timers and aerator taps.
Athenry is one of two areas nationwide chosen to take part in the project.
