Army bomb disposal team declares area in Ballybane where suspect device was found as safe

A bomb disposal unit from the Defence Forces has examined a "suspect device" in Ballybane.

Gardaí were alerted to the device at a residential property at around 11am this morning.

The area was evacuated for a time but has now been declared safe.

A non-viable device was located and removed for technical examination and enquiries are ongoing.
