Approval has been given for the expansion of the Blue Note pub in the West End.
The plans would see a new "Quiet Lounge" created in a vacant commercial premises beside the pub gate.
A local resident had raised objections, over the noise impact on overheard apartments.
City planners have now granted permission, subject to noise mitigation and monitoring measures being carried out.
