Approval for additional accommodation works at Gort Community School

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The provision of additional accommodation works at Gort Community School has been approved.

The works will allow for six new classrooms, a new science laboratory, a new technical graphics room and four special education rooms.

It's understood there will be a minimum investment of 3 million euro.

The investment is to cater for the growing student population which is expected to reach 860 students next September - nearly 200 students more than the original building can accommodate.
