Galway Bay FM newsroom - A city councillor is appeaing to the public to leave vital lifebuoys in place.

Niall McNeilis first highlighted his frustrations on Facebook after seeing one missing from beside the River Corrib.

Councillor McNeilis is slamming those who steal them, claiming some people are damaging or breaking them down for parts.

Speaking on Galway Talks, the councillor shared his disillusionment with what is happening:
