Aontú has switched around its candidates in Galway West and Roscommon-Galway.
Athlone native Pádraig Lenihan will be running in Galway West in place of Cormac Ó Corcoráin who will now be the flagbearer in Roscommon-Galway.
Pádraig, a nephew of the recently deceased former Minister Mary O'Rourke, contested the City Central ward for Aontú in June’s local elections when he learned that housing and traffic were the key issues.
A university lecturer and, prior to that, an army captain, Pádraig retains a keen interest in education and defence.
Cormac Ó Corcoráin will run for the party in the Roscommon-Galway constituency for the upcoming General Election.
Cormac contested the 2020 General Election in the Galway West constituency but has now moved to Ballaghdereen.
