Almost half a million euro for Connemara Irish language early years support

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Almost half a million euro in funding has been announced for Irish language early years services in Connemara.

Early years services support children to learn, develop, and increase their readiness for school.

A grant of almost 200 thousand euro has been awarded to the committee of Naíonra na bhForbacha for the construction of a new nursery next to Furbo National School.

A further 230 thousand euro has been granted to Ionad Tacaíochta Teaghlaigh to clear debt relating to the development of the early years centre in Indreabhán.

The Connemara services are the first to benefit from new Department of Gaeltacht funding through the Community and Language Supports Programme.
