Galway Bay fm newsroom - Almost €1.5m in car parking fees was collected at University Hospital Galway in 2017.
That's according to new figures from the HSE, which outline parking revenue generated at 47 hospitals nationwide.
UHG collected €1.45m - while Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe generated a further €166 thousand in parking fees during 2017.
The data - obtained through a parliamentary question - shows that overall, €22.4 million was received by hospitals around the country in 2017.
