Almost 60 patients waiting at UHG as hospital faces bed capacity challenges

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Almost 60 people are awaiting treatment at the emergency department at UHG today.

The city acute hospital continues to face extreme bed capacity pressure and is the second most overcrowded today with 52 on trolleys and seven on wards elsewhere.

There are 11 patients awaiting admission at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

Nationwide, University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded with 75 patients waiting.
